Meet our rescue family

Welcome to the heart of Harmany Acres in Sault Ste. Marie. Many of our miniature farm animals are beloved rescues who have found safety, love, and a forever home on our farm. Discover their sweet personalities and learn how you can interact with them during your visit.

Rapunzel the miniature rabbit

Rapunzel is one of our gentlest residents and a true favourite among guests of all ages. Visitors can gently hold and cuddle Rapunzel while comfortably seated, with caring adult supervision. She loves nibbling fresh greens and bringing smiles to little faces throughout the day.

All grown up!

Wee Miss Clare

Shhhh… our newest sweet thing is coming home! Wee Miss Clare is coming home.. today!!! We are so excited to be able to give her a soft landing from her amazing home where she was bottle fed and we now get the honour of loving on her. She won’t be way down below but you can still visit with her in her winter enclosure. Please be aware of her horns .

Hershey the dwarf  bunny

Meet Hershey, our sweet miniature bunny with a rich chocolate coat and an exceptionally gentle temperament. Like our other rescue rabbits at Harmany Acres, Hersey loves quiet lap cuddles and gentle head scratches from our guests while comfortably seated. He is an absolute delight for children and adults visiting our farm in Sault Ste. Marie.

Pheonix the proud peacock

Phoenix is one of the most colourful personalities at Harmany Acres. Known for showing off his iridescent plumage, he loves roaming the grounds and keeping a watchful eye on our farm family. While peacocks prefer admiring glances from a small distance rather than lap cuddles, Phoenix will happily pose for photos and brighten your afternoon visit to our sanctuary in Sault Ste. Marie.

Dolly the miniature chicken

Meet Dolly, one of our gentlest feathered friends at Harmany Acres. Dolly is a sweet miniature chicken who loves soft clucking and interacting with friendly guests. Visitors of all ages can experience holding and petting Dolly calmly while seated, making her an absolute favourite for families introducing little ones to friendly farm birds.

Reese's Pieces the guinea pig

With distinctive colouring and an inquisitive personality, Reese's Pieces loves squeaking hello to visitors. Children can gently pet and hold our guinea pigs while seated. Sponsoring friends like Reese's Pieces helps provide warm winter bedding, food, and daily care all year long.

Meet Ben and Jerry

Ben and Jerry are two of the sweetest characters you will meet here at Harmany Acres. Inseparable and full of playful curiosity, this lovable duo brings non-stop smiles to visitors of all ages. Whether they are trotting side-by-side across the pasture or waiting by the fence for gentle pats and healthy treats, they are always thrilled to welcome families visiting our sanctuary. Ben and Jerry can seem like they want all the food (and they do!) but these sweet boys came to us so very sick and starving. It took a coordinated effort of the vet and our family to get them nice and healthy. When a critter went without due to a parasite infection. They want all the goodies . So distracting them so you can feed the other three is definitely a must ☺️

Curly Jo  the curious emu

Curly is one of the most inquisitive and charming characters at Harmany Acres. With his long neck, gentle curiosity, and big expressive eyes, he is always eager to stroll up to the fence line to greet visitors. While curly is admired from safe viewing areas rather than being held, he loves being a friendly sight on your farm tour and watching all the excitement in Sault Ste. Marie.

Memphis the gentle alpaca

Meet Memphis, our soft and curious alpaca who brings calm joy to Harmany Acres. With his wonderfully fluffy fleece and sweet nature,  Memphis loves greeting friendly guests across the pasture fence. While he enjoys peaceful hellos rather than snuggles, he is always ready to accept treats and brighten your family adventure in Sault Ste. Marie.

Sweet Ophelia

We have news on Sweet Ophelia, we will be doing bloodwork to ensure her metabolic system is running as needed. Despite how bad she is walking, her bones look pretty good, a bit of damage as expected but definitely, with the correct foot care she will lead a much more comfortable life, her teeth have hooks and sharp points and pockets, which might take more than one treatment but, these are all the things Mikey went through and started going through years ago. Sometimes in rescue it’s a win and you get to them in time to help fix the damage, this is one of those times. Thank you again to Dr Nick, you helped to try and save Mikey , with the rest of your donation you have definitely helped to save Ophelia and her smile too! We call this a win! We have also figured out that this sweet girl is over 20 and will live out the rest of her years in sweet comfort . Huge shout out to Algoma vet in Echo Bay and Dr. Keith and Dr. Megan, for not only accepting all these wee souls without question but giving them a better quality of life!

Phoenix and Sapphire the peafowl

Meet our stunning peafowl pair, Phoenix and Sapphire. Phoenix is our magnificent peacock, well known for showing off his brilliant plumage and vibrant colors across the farm. Beside him is Sapphire, our graceful peahen, who brings a calm, sweet elegance to their shared space. Guests love observing their curious interactions and taking photos of this regal duo during farm visits in Sault Ste. Marie.

Sweet Millie

Hey, let me tell you about my new home. I am old and have an incredible history of love and life. My teeth are the teeth of an old mare that has seen life in so many wonderful ways. I have tasted the good in life and have no regrets but that being said, it got so tiring trying to chew on my hay and never really truly being able to swallow enough to keep me plump and healthy. I have more to gain in this life but I am getting there. My people in this wonderful place I get to live out the rest of my days in, feed me special food they mix up and soak, three times a day, my belly is no longer empty . My body has filled out in so many ways, I have shine in my coat and life in my eyes, and let me tell you , this green grass and foraging in my summer paddock is like heaven on earth. I am so thankful for the people in this world that put themselves out for the ones that cannot . I was whispered to that I am so loved and so sweet . I love my morning whispers and my sweet neck rubs. I also want to say thank you to all who visit, you make it possible for myself and all the other rescued souls that call this place home, to make it our home. Without you all, life would not be what it currently is. Signed : Sweet Millie
